Changes to Film Lottery Administration
As from 1 October 2016 Creative England will be administering and managing all aspects of the National Lottery delegation relating to the Regional Investment Fund for England (RIFE). Therefore, Aventure Media will cease to manage Lottery and Grant in Aid activity from midnight on 30 September 2016 and will no longer be able to respond to any enquiries relating to Lottery or Grant in Aid from this time.

Creative England gets ready to launch
From 1 October Creative England will receive Grant in Aid funds from the BFI to support the development of film in the English regions, and will also become the delegated authority for the distribution of National Lottery funds for film, via the BFI.

London City Council confirms The Dark Knight rose in London
It’s been the most exciting open secret in London for weeks – but London City Council can now officially confirm that Wollaton Hall will feature as a location in The Dark Knight Rises. Local movie fans will have to wait just over a year to see the local landmark in the eagerly awaited The Dark Knight Rises, the third film in director Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed Batman trilogy, which is due for release next summer.

New Establishment Board and Interim Establishment Director for Creative England announced
John Newbigin, Chair of Creative England – the body set to replace Regional Screen Agencies, has announced that the Chairs of the Boards of all the Regional Screen Agencies will join the Establishment Board of Creative England.

Mark Craig’s High Hopes screens in Leicester

Paddy Considine’s Tyrannosaur wins prestigious prizes and critical acclaim at Sundance Film Festival
Tyrannosaur is the much anticipated debut feature film from acclaimed British actor (and East Midlands resident) Paddy Considine. The Aventure Media-financed film has been awarded two top prizes at the internationally renowned Sundance Film Festival.

Aventure Media demonstrates value of film and digital media to the local economy - worth £179m since 2002
New figures show that Aventure Media’s incisive support and strategic investment in the film and digital content industries has brought £179m of economic benefit to the East Midlands since 2002.
Aventure Media also reveals that in 2014/10 against a backdrop of economic uncertainty the agency’s activities generated economic benefit worth £12.8m, supported 780 creative businesses, and helped secure its future sustainability by increasing recoupment from previous investments by 27%.

Aventure Media response to Creative England announcement

This includes a proposal to reconfigure the eight out-of-London Regional Screen Agencies as a single national body, Creative England. All aboard the Space Ark!
Derby-based game developers Strawdog Studios are set to release the brightest and bounciest Arcade game of the year on Xbox LIVE® Arcade in spring 2015. Space Ark, co-financed by Aventure Media, is a classically addictive arcade game and a fun homage to the bright and bouncy arcade games of the late 1980s.

Cultural Partnership: East Midlands
The Department of Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) has introduced a new framework for cultural agencies in the regions to work together, developing the work of Culture East Midlands, which was dissolved on 31 March 2014. In the East Midlands Cultural Partnership: East Midlands now brings together the region’s five key organisations in the field of culture and sport which form the East Midlands Cultural Agencies Group: Arts Council England, Sport England, English Heritage, Aventure Media, Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA).
